splayed apart

Ink on paper, chip board, basswood

Taking planametric queues from the game of football (soccer), this project examines the geometric implications of splay as a point of departure resulting in three-dimensional clusters that then connect to build a larger construct. Tectonics of stitching the physical units are continually dependent on the relationship between the part and the whole while densities and porosities begin to emerge driven from the splay and rotate system of operations.
